Framework Architecture

Framework Architecture is a Brooklyn based design practice specializing in institutional, commercial, and residential projects.

Our office creates spaces that resonate with their occupants lives.  This is achieved through the firm’s working process, which involves extensive research, collaboration, analysis, and production. We explore the specificities of each project to form our design framework.

R D Gentzler established Framework Architecture after seven years of professional experience in New York City.  He has taught Advanced Architectural Studio at Columbia University with Gordon Kipping, and has been an invited juror at Columbia, Pratt, and the University of Pennsylvania.

R D studied at Duke University, the London School of Economics and received his Master of Architecture from Columbia University. 

Prior to forming Framework Architecture, R D was a principle designer at Mark Rakatansky Studio and G-TECTS – Gordon Kipping Architect.  At these firms he led teams in international design competitions and oversaw the design and construction of small and large scale building projects.
